Leica HD Rangefinders rock!
Date:
I got the Leica BFR-Y 10x42 binoculars and can't be happier! The optics are superb and the rangefinder works great. I can get readings on whitetails out to 650-700 yards and my farthest on a reflective tower was 1289 yards. I haven't really tested the ranging abilities of reflective targets but have extensively on non-reflective animal targets. The weight of these is a little heavier than regular binos, but if you have a quality harness, like the one Cabela's sells, you won't be bothered by it. These are a great one stop shop if you are looking for a very high quality binocular and a very accurate usable rangefinder.

I own two pair of the Geovids. The major issue is that the Range finder button is on the left hand side. I am a right handed bowhunter so this isn't good. Very poor design. I have acclimated to learning how to hold them in a very funky way. The bino portion is awesome but they need to move the button. Also, on both pairs the eye piece unscrews and falls out all the time.

I put off buying these because of the expense. Now I wish I would have bought them years ago. The clarity is awesome and the amount of light you pick up at first and last light is amazing! The range finder works everytime. This may be the best purchase I've ever made.
