Bushnell® Scout 1000

    • Gives accurate readings to 300 yards on deer-sized targets
    • 24mm objective lets in plenty of light for dawn and dusk
    • Vertical configuration offers one-handed operation
    • BullsEye, Brush and Scan modes
    • Angle Range Compensation (ARC) bow and rifle modes
The Scout rangefinder gives accurate readings to 300 yards on deer-sized targets, 600 yards on trees and 999 yards on reflective targets. Also measures distance in meters. 5X magnification allows you to pinpoint your target for positive readings, while the 24mm objective lets in plenty of light for dawn and dusk situations. Vertical configuration offers comfortable one-handed operation. BullsEye, Brush and Scan modes. Aiming circle reticle and low-light display. Diopter adjustment with click stops. Built-in tripod mount. Runs on a 3-volt battery (included). Angle Range Compensation (ARC) bow and rifle modes provide true-angle compensation. ARC accounts for the terrain angle when calculating distance, so you know precisely how to shoot the range. No guesswork. Included with the Scout 1000 is a black Skinz™ removeable neoprene cover with a Folds of Honor logo ($20 value), a brochure about the foundation and a $30 mail-in rebate with the option to donate all or a portion of this rebate to the foundation.

Support the Folds of Honor Foundation with your purchase of this limited Patriot Edition of the economical, feature-packed Bushnell Scout rangefinder. The Folds of Honor provides scholarships and support to the families of those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Best for the money
Date:
I have 4 rangefinders, including two of these (one a Bushnell branded model, and one labeled "cabelas" but identical in form and function).
The Bushnell Scout 1000's with ARC are fantastic, especially for the money. My other two models are Leica 1600 and Nikon 1200, which ran twice the price of the Bushnells, and to 600yrds, don't offer any real difference in performance. No, it's not a "better unit", but yes, these do absolutely everything you could ask from them out to 400-600yrds.
The "accurate on deer sized objects to 300yrds" is pretty conservative. With a steady hand and a clear day, I can pick out deer to 600yrds, and buildings out to 1000yrds with little trouble. I've used these bushnells for hunting, planning fencing supply purchases, bow hunting, landscaping, etc etc. Very handy, and budget friendly enough to not worry quite so much about packing them around (potentially damaging them).

Bushnell does not honor rebates
Date:
I purchased a Leupold 600 which I like much better than the Bushnell despite the lack of the ARC feature. Much of my decision was based on the fact that Bushnell stifed me on a rebate for a scope I purchased last year. I'll never buy another Bushnell product.
