Not So Good But Okay For The Price
Date:
With some trees around I get about one to one mile out of mine. If one of the radios is being used in a house, they reach lass than one half mile. I haven't tried them in open country yet. If you are hunting or camping in a small area, they should do fine, but they are not serious two way radios by far.

1.6 miles Maybe-16 No Way! - Still Fun & Cheap!!
Date:
These are the walkie-talkies you WISH you had when you were a kid! I think Motorola got the decimal point in the wrong place (1.6 miles is about it) Still, these are cheap & fun to use. Also, there are one-watt channels AND half-watt channels. I tested the1-watt range (channel one) to be around 1 mile through thick vegetation which may, or may not meet your needs. Comes with rechargeable batteries. Huge $$$ saver compared to AA's , but AA's can still be used.

bad buy
Date:
Purchased these radios and tried them out. worked good for about a half mile, then all we got was static. Could hear the other person key up but could not hear them talk. Sent them back for an upgrade to midland radios. waiting for them to arrive.
