Headset
Date:
Used the headsets for the 1st time this weekend during a hog hunt. The headsets worked great. Experienced no problems even during rain and high humidity. I would only make one recommendation to the manufacturer, that is to include a clip of some sort on the cord or push-to-talk button to keep cord in one place. This would prevent having to look for the push-to-talk button. Other than that, great headset would buy again.

Not Worth The Money
Date:
I got a pair of these earbud-boom mic headsets when I purchased the Midland top-of-the-line radios from Cabelas. The radios are fantastic, but the headsets are just plain poorly designed. The earbud does not stay in your ear, but rather floats around - so you have the hold it into your ear to hear when other people are talking. Since the earbud moves around, so does the boom mic, so you have to hold the mic to your mouth when you talk. And if you need to use the PTT button AND hold the boom mic to your mouth it can take 2 hands unlesss you are very dextrous one-handed. Additionally the PTT is so small and slick that you can forget about using it with any kind of glove other than a fingerless glove.
Needless to say, if you need to have a back and forth conversation, and you are trying to hold the earbud, hold the boom mic, press the PTT button.....it can look like you are either playing the harmonica out in the field or trying to have your conversation in sign language. Definitely enough hand movement to scare game away - I know because it happened to me last weekend while deer hunting.
I have ordered a set of the Midland AVPH3 Security Headsets - my buddies all use them and say they are the best headset that Midland makes. Everyone who has tried the basic Midland boom mic headset agrees that they are just plain junk. Save yourself a lot of hassle and buy the good headsets to start.

good but needs some redesigning
Date:
These headsets function good but have some problems. The earpiece is not very adjustable and falls out constantly. If you have a big head like me the vox function does not work because the boom is not long enough. The only way to talk in it is to push the mic towards your face which in turn no longer makes it a "hands-free device"

The headset is great for hands free communication but I found the ear piece difficult to put around my ear.
