Information is vital to your safety and that of your family in the event of an emergency. You need access to information that does not depend on one power source in case that source is compromised. The C.Crane Solar Observer is specially engineered to meet that need. It provides you with AM/FM and NOAA/Emergency Services radio reception, along with a way to charge many types of cell phones with included adapters. The unit has multiple power capabilities. Absence of sun is not a problem. You can also use three AA alkaline batteries (not included). Turn the hand crank to charge the internal NiMH rechargeable battery pack, or purchase an optional AC adapter (sold separately) to charge the battery pack using a wall outlet. 10 minutes of moderate cranking results in about an hour of power for listening. Built-in 2.5" speaker. Plug in headphones or earbugs for listening in stereo. Charging adapters include Moto V3 (Mini-B/USB), Samsung N630, Nokia 2.0mm, LG KG90 and iPod®.
