They have width- and corner-angle adjustments to fit on the front or back of any ATV cargo rack. Spring-lock buttons adjust width from 30" to 37" on the front and 35" to 41" on the back. Corner angles adjust up to 30°. Tubular- and laser-cut steel has a durable, weather-resistant finish. Included universal mounting hardware accommodates most ATVs. Angled and straight extensions available for both front and rear ATV racks. Made in USA. Available:
I purchased a straight rear extension and an angled front extension. The extensions seem solid but I have questions about long term durability and fit.
Durability In general the welds seem well done but there are numerous places for water to get into the tubes both through holes designed in the tubes and from places where welds don't close completely. The good news is some of the holes will work as drains. I'm also concerned about the spring buttons which allow width adjustment. I'm afraid they will rust in place or break since they will be exposed to water.
Fit The extensions are width adjustable at 1/2 inch increments. The corner angles work well and seem solid when bolts are tightened. The non-adjustable angle of the front extension (not corner angles) did not match the angle of my rack so I'm exchanging for a straight front extension. This is just personal preference - no fault of the rack extension. My big issue with fit relates to the way my Honda ATV racks are made. My racks have a tube that sticks up (vertical) from the flat surface of the rack on the outside edge of the racks. The Fuse extensions have to set on top of this tube. The Fuse mounting hardware will not work with this elevated installation. I knew this when I bought them so it's not a design flaw but it would be nice to have "adjustable rack extensions" that fit this type of racks. I'll contact Fuse to see if they have a solution. If not, I'll have to fabricate my own or return both extensions.
The hardware pack for both extensions included plastic plugs to close the end of the tubes (re: previous review).
If you have a flat rack, these should work well. If you have racks with the elevated vertical bar, you may want to keep looking.
I looked for quite some time to find a rack extension that would work for my 2003 Suzuki Vinson 500. Most of them did not fit even though they were specific to my machine. The Fuse rack seems to be good quality but read the instructions closely when putting it together. It has 1/4 inch adjustments on each side the two bars that go between the main assemblies so it will fit the width of most machines. The end tubes of the rack assembly were left open for some reason though so I bought two 5/8 inch plastic plugs and sealed it so debris is kept out. Overall this appears to be a decent rack extension.
