Mac's River Runner

Looks to be a good product assuming it does as advertised. I have not hit anything yet to put it to the test.
I only put it on when I go on the river. My boat is no rocket ship. I have an 15' Alumacraft with a 30 HP Mercury on it. In the open water the boat tops out at 28 MPH. With the River Runner protector on the motor, the top speed drops to 20 MPH. It creates a lot of drag on a small motor. A significant enough drop that I only put it on at when I go to the river. With just 4 bolts it is easy enough to take on and off.

The concept is right except u cant have a universal product when it comes to outboard motors the pitch didn't fit my skeg right on my 25 hp mercrury then after installing i went to the river and found out i lost 10 mph on my speed. If your not worried about speed its alright but if u have a smaller outboard losing speed isn't worth it u can replace a prop or a skeg for the price of the product.

Years ago I purchased a river runner and put it on an Evinrude 15 HP motor. After destroying 2 props in the shallows of Montana's rivers, I decided I needed a solution and purchased the river runner. It is quite effective in lessening prop damage, although some gravel will inevitably make it into the prop. It will prevent prop blades from being broken off or bent and instead they will suffer only minor dings. I severely abused this product for 5 years before breaking down and buying a jet boat, and in that time I hit rocks literally hundreds of times in the muddy water. I never actually broke a prop while using it, but a couple did need to be repaired because they eventually got too small. In its lifetime the river runner paid for itself many times over. If you run shallow water frequently and have a prop, this product will save you money and aggravation.

Full Season & No Damage

Installed this last winter when I put new skeg on my jon boat motor. After all the river fishing, scouting for waterfowl, and a full waterfowl season, the "River Runner" has saved its cost several times over. I found a few unexpected "prizes" under the water this year and without this product I am sure repairs to the prop or skeg would have been needed. If you live in the shallows and have damaged your skeg and/or prop, this is for you.
