Comprop Yamaha® Outboard Propellers

  • Four-blades for improved acceleration, cornering and speed
  • Costs 30% less than aluminum
  • Composite construction allows blades to break upon impact
Comprop delivers four-blade performance for less than a three-blade aluminum prop! Used as original equipment by many top-quality boat builders. Why? Testing shows durable Comprop propellers accelerate quicker, run faster, corner better and are smoother on most boats than three-blade aluminum props yet cost 30% less! Made in a computer generated mold assuring each blade is exactly alike. This process – and the four-blade design – results in unmatched smoothness and overall performance that ordinary three-blade aluminum props can't match. During soft-bottom/low-speed operation, the composite material resisted dings, folds and blunting common to aluminum props. During a high-speed prop strike, the blades are designed to break, absorbing much of the shock and reducing the likelihood of costly drivetrain repairs. When replacing a prop, use one of similar size and pitch for similar performance. Mounting hardware not included. Made in USA.

Comprop for my Yamaha
Date:
I bought this "performance" prop for my Yamaha 25. Never got to see if it worked as advertised. The fittment of the prop was absolutely horrible. I got the correct size, but the spline grooves in the hub were cut so badly that the prop would only fit about half way on. Tried cleaning them up a bit with a file, and got it a little further on, but just pats halfway it stopped. Bumping it with the palm of my hand only succeded in geting the prop stuck, and my wedding band chipped one of the blades ( so much for impact resistance). Had to resort to a gear puller to get it off the shaft, and the puller cut into the backside flange. Had this been an emergency backup, to be used on the water, I would have been looking for a tow. I know it's a value priced propeller, but for any amount of money the machining or molding of the splines should have been much better. I guess I'll never know. I'll be calling Cabelas for a return tomorrow!

Comprop
Date:
This was my second Comprop that I have purchased. This one didn't fit although it was the right size. After calling the manufacturer I filed the opening for the shaft to clean out some of the material left from the molding process. I think many people would have been hesitant to do this. Also, if I had needed this prop out on the water where I don't usually carry a file I would have been out of luck.
Other than that, the prop works great.

Great Product, Lack of sizes!
Date:
Comprop have priced their product well, I bought two props for less than what it would have cost me to buyone no-name alloy prop in Australia! and that was also taking into account shipping costs. (was ninety dollars AU better off!)
Unfortunately I need a prop for my yamaha 25 hp in 12 pitch x 10 x 4 yet there only seems to be the 11 pitch and 13 pitch available for my motor from Comprop.
I hope they get this pitch prop on the market as I would buy one immediately (as would every one that I have given my comprops to for a sample run)
The 13 pitch got the revs down a bit and sped the boat up a little where the 11 pitch was a little slower yet shot the boat up onto the plane the quickest and had better control of hull speed when trying to stay put on the back of a large swell in a rolling sea.
I use the 13 pitch in the river with a lightly loaded boat, the OEM prop with a moderate load and the 11 pitch when heavily loaded or trolling in open ocean swell.
I hope this info helps, Oh and these props are handling sand abrasion better than the alloy OEM one!
