Shimano® Calcutta® D Casting Reel

The latest version of the Calcutta combines the advantages of low profile and round reels. It has a much smaller profile than the Calcutta TE – 15% smaller in height, 11% narrower, 11% lighter. In addition, Shimano increased the cranking power, freespool capabilities, line retrieve and overall durability. The pinion gear is now supported with two bearings to eliminate gear twist or movement. This allows more efficient energy transfer from the drive gear to the spool and eliminates friction with the spool shaft. X Ship technology adds rigidity, making the handle easier to turn with or without load. Other performance-enhancing details include the smooth X Drag with carbon-fiber drag washers; high-efficiency gearing; and larger, more comfortable handles.
