Ithaca manufactured more than 380,000 Model 1911-A1 .45-caliber pistols for the U.S. military during World War II. Now it has taken the same quality that goes into its rugged and reliable modern shotguns and applied it to these reintroductions of the classic semiautomatic handgun. Both models feature carbon-steel frames and slides that are hand-lapped to produce an exacting fit. A firm grasp is ensured by 22-lines-per-inch checkering on the steel front strap and checkered cocobolo wood grip panels. These handguns are outfitted with skeletonized tool-steel triggers, extended beavertail grip safeties, rear slide serrations, full-length two-piece stainless steel guide rods with plugs, hand-fit match-grade stainless steel barrel bushings, 5" match-grade stainless steel barrels, thumb safeties and lowered, flared ejection ports. 7+1 capacity. Available:
