The ST Performance Hull gives these sit-on-top kayaks a surprising amount of speed and tracking without sacrificing stability. They are equipped with the kind of features typically found on more expensive kayaks. The Spitfire 8 has a Comfort Rest System (CRS) seat, a tankwell with cargo-net lacing system for gear storage, and self-bailing scupper holes to quickly drain water from the cockpit and tankwell. The larger Spitfire 9 is equipped with a Solace Hatch for easy-access gear storage and a CRS 2 Next Generation Seat with bottom and back padding. Both feature a sit-on-top design that allows more freedom of movement (you can even stand), and makes entering and exiting the kayak easier, even in open water.
