Description: This custom rifle built by J. K. Cloward* in .416 Remington was built from a 1951 (Pre '64) Winchester Model 70 long action. This rifle has a 25 inch ported barrel with matte black finish and has an adjustable rear sight with a ramped post hooded front sight. A Leupold Vari-X III 1.5 to 5 power scope has been mounted over the receiver. The stock is of hand checkered deluxe walnut with cheek piece, pistol grip with rose wood grip cap, and a Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. The stock shows a few very light handling marks. The barrel and action are in flawless pristine condition and overall this fine custom rifle remains in excellent to near perfect condition.
*J. K. Cloward is a master custom gunsmith and owner of Cloward's Gun Shop in Lake Stevens, Washington state in the greater Seattle area. His speciality is custom guns for hunting and competition target shooting and has been doing this since 1966. At the age of 12 Jim began logging in his home state of Utah which began a career of recognizing great gun stock wood and today is one of the premier gunsmiths in the world. In the process of building big game rifles which have been used all over the world, he also developed and built some of the finest target rifles that have won numerous world and USA championships. Jim is a Distinguished Rifleman and High Master in both Long Range and USA across the course three position shooting. The 2007 Palma Match Team had Jim as their Official Armorer.
