Description: This is a Merkel model 140-2 in .470NE with 23 1/2" barrels. The silver receiver has nice scroll engraving and shows little wear. The 23 1/2" barrels have a low mounted yellow chevron on the rear leaf sights and a white bead blade front sight and they show minor wear around the muzzle with a slight wear to the bluing. This firearm has double triggers and extractors. The walnut stock has a straigjht grain with slight grading in color from dark to light and some tiger stripping and nice checkering on the pistol grip, yet there are a few dents and scratches that come from use and it has a limbsaver butt pad. The forearm has nice checkering and the colors of the wood match the stock yet there are a few handling marks in the wood. The bores are bright and shiny. It does not have a case.
