Description: This Fine English Shotgun was brought to us on consignment. This C.G. Bonehill Field Gun in 10 gauge was built for Strong Hackett & Co. and has 31 1/2 inch Damascus barrels choked modified by improved cylinder with 2 3/4 inch chambers and has single brass bead on a solid concave rib. The bores show moderate pitting. The barrels are off-face and the top lever falls left of center. The receiver shows elegant engraving with makers name on both side plates. Features double trigger, rebounding hammers, and extractors. Stock is of checkered walnut with pistol grip, plastic grip cap, splinter fore end with Deeley style release and ebony insert, and checkered plastic butt plate. The stock shows handing marks and some marring and the grip shows a one inch crack on the right side and a second quarter inch crack on the left side. This shotgun is in overall fair to good condition. Barrel flats show proof marks used by the Birmingham proof house which were used from 1870’s to 1880’s.
