Gauge 24 Gauge
Chamber 2-3/4" - Manual extractor
Barrel 27-1/2" Overall length. One-third octagon transitioning to round
Choke Muzzle ID measures approximately .563", but we are not equipped to measure actual bore diameter. This is a .017" constriction based on a nominal bore size of.580". Based on "Best Guess" principles we figure that to be a modified choke in a 24 Ga.
Weight 4 lbs.
Trigger Single
Stock Cut-checkered, straight-grip walnut
Stock Dimensions LOP: 14-3/4"
Fore End Cut-checkered, splinter-type walnut
Butt Smooth, blued steel buttplate
Metal Condition Barrel bluing is mostly intact with some discoloration/loss of blue in the breech area and scattered patches of freckling along the length. The receiver has turned to a gray patina, but there are remnants of blue and violet original case colors visible along with some oxidation and light pitting. Belgian (Liege proof house) black powder proofed.
Wood Condition The stock and forend appear to be structurally sound, but there is some checking visible on both sides of the stock at the buttplate. There is also a small chip at the rear of the tang, but no associated crack in the wood is visible. A rather ornate engraving plate near the toe carries the name: F. Tettoni, Brescia in a crown over a ribboned oval
Bore Condition While not mirror-bright, the bore is clean and reflects light well. Annular tool marks along with some light to moderate pitting are visible in the bore but its condition can be honestly classified as "fair".
Manufacture Date Unknown.
Sights Single metal bead
Extras None.

Description: A somewhat unusual offering, this Belgian-proofed 24 gauge shows every indication of having been used on a regular basis by a previous owner.  The only proof marks are the provisional black powder proof from the Liege proof house.  No nitro proof marks are visible.
