When rod designer and competitive fly-caster Tim Rajeff set about designing the Ion series, he had large flies, stiff winds and unyielding fish in mind. The Ion’s stiff backbone generates the high line speeds and tight loops necessary to punch big flies into a strong headwind without causing hand and arm fatigue. The rod also has a stiff backbone for slugging it out with ornery denizens of the deep. The series features full-wells cork handles with composite pressure zones. Alignment dots allow for easy assembly. These four-piece travel rods have matte, stealth-gray blanks and 1-1/4" or 2" fighting butts depending on the model. Oversized stripper guides. Hard-chrome single-foot snake guides. 30" “fish hero” mark. Each rod comes with a gray Cordura® nylon-covered rod tube.
