Its conical drag and triple-redundant radial pawl engagement system delivers seamless, tippet-saving transitions between line-in and drag engagement with split-second responsiveness. Updated for 2010 with more aluminum parts at the request of customers, it features a new vented spool and frame that is fitted with a new aluminum spool cap, drag knob and escapement cover. The one-piece, large-arbor frame and spool are CNC-machined of a proprietary 6061-T6 aluminum alloy for high-impact durability and all-conditions corrosion resistance. Aluminum Teflon®-impregnated Delrin® 500AF drag material capitalizes on space-age polymer technology for heat-dissipating performance and self-lubricating, maintenance-free convenience. The drag mechanism directly connects the Delrin 500AF drag material to the anodized-aluminum interface for eliminating start-up friction. Oil-impregnated bronze bushing. Stainless steel spindle.
