Description: Offered by our consigner: This is a good example of a vintage Browning Olympian grade rifle. Built on an FN Mauser 98 action, it features deep relief scroll engraving and game scenes complimented by a nicely figured walnut stock. The receiver, crossbolt, and bottom metal feature a satin chrome finish. The receiver has an elk and a pronghorn while the bottom metal is adorned with a deer and bear. R. Kowalski's signature is found under each of the two animals on the front ring of the receiver. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept optics but is missing 3 of the four plug screws. The Monte Carlo stock is checkered and carved on the forend and pistol grip. It has an engraved crossbolt as well as a contrasting forend tip and grip cap. This gun is in very good condition. It has some wear from use. There is case wear near the muzzle. There are a few scratches and a small ding on top the barrel. There is metal wear in the usual places seen on a fired gun such as the bolt body. The wood has a few scattered scratches and dings, mainly on the cheekpiece. There is a small crack in the clear finish next to the trigger guard on the bottom of the rifle. This is a consignment gun.
