Have peace of mind during your next wilderness adventure carrying the ACR GlobalFix emergency position-indicating Radio Beacon. This is a satellite-signaling device of last resort, for use when all other means of self-rescue have been exhausted – where the situation is grave and imminent loss of life, limb, eyesight or valuable property will occur without assistance. Once registered and activated, the unique identification code in your EPIRB device is linked to the registration database, allowing authorities to retrieve valuable information about you and your trip. The next-generation GlobalFix PRO has a professional grade, 16-channel GPS receiver for faster location acquisition – typically three to five times faster than a conventional GPS from a cold start. Upon activation, the receiver transmits your position coordinates in a powerful 406MHz signal along with your registered, digitally coded distress signal and a 121.5MHz SAR homing frequency. The 110-yd. GPS position accuracy is the optimum allowed by Cospas-Sarat. Other features include built-in LED strobe light, full-function test mode and GPS acquisition testing. The exclusive polycarbonate blend case provides UV, chemical, temperature and shock resistance and is waterproof to 10 meters for 10 minutes. The Automatic Category I Sea Shelter3 bracket is fully enclosed and made of high-density, UV-stabilized polyethylene for years of extreme abuse. The manual low-profile Category II LowPro3 bracket features a two-part design for easy mounting and quick removal when needed. Minimum 48 hours operating life; typical performance is 70+ hours.
