motorola t9500,
October 19, 2008
By need2hunt
"I purchased these radios because they advertised a maximum range of 25 miles in perfect conditions with a mimimum of around 5 miles in an urban setting. I found they were no better than the 5 mile rated radios I bought years ago. We hunt in Colorado and our base camp is about 4 miles and 1050 vertical feet lower than our spike camp. We could not communicate with these radios. I spent the money for an FCC license and it was a waste."

Great field radios,
January 21, 2008
By Cathy922from Charlotte Hall, MD
"I bought these radios for my husband and son to use. They are excellent. They did everything the description said they would. The range is unbelievable. We were also able to tune to other family members' radios. I would definitely recommend them for hunters. We even use them to communicate from one point of our farm to the house."

poor performance,
January 7, 2008
By bustabigin
"I purchased this set in october for hunting season. My previous set of motorola's performed flawlessly, but this new set had other ideas. The range was no where close to the old one's. They kept cutting out in a less than one mile range. I would not recommend this set to anyone at all. I do hunt in a rolling terrain, but my new midlands are doing great!"

Motorola T9500 Series FRS/GMRS Radio Pack,
January 7, 2008
By hogheadfrom Lexinton, KY
"I bought this product in hopes that I would really be able to get some top quality range out of these two-way radios. After putting them to use in the field, I could have probably done better with a can and string. These were the top of the line Motorola's (25 mile) and you could not understand a word that the other person was saying from any distance (whether you were 10 feet or 1 mile away). I would not recommend. I will buy another brand next time."

"I got these as a gift from my wife for Christmas. We used them around our neighborhood to test them, but haven't used them in the field. They do much better than others we have had with similar specs. So far, I like this product. I would buy them again."

Weak T9500Radio,
January 7, 2008
By Mundyfrom LaGrange, Ky. close to Ohio River
"Very disappointed, range not as advertised, I'm lucky to get reception at 500 yqrds. I do hunt in hilly Kentucky woodlands. But they are advertised to have a 25 mile range. Think I'll give them to the grandkids."

Good value,
January 7, 2008
By BobNYCfrom New York, NY
"I bought this set of handhelds after the Motorola I owned for many years finally died. I noticed a definite increase in the distance/terrain the units could cover, a big plus in the hilly NEPA area I hunt. I just wish it has two separate charging units."

"Worked so so this was due to not knowing the digital filters cause the radios to break up After nearly sending them back I discovered how the filters really work Read the manual closely The charger is not the greatist because it doesn't indicate full charge or shut off"

JUNK- is there lower than a 1,
January 1, 2008
By JavelinaHuntfrom Arizona
"Bought these radios in hopes to get 2 miles, did not even get 280 yards! Buddy went on a stalk on some Javelinas and he only heard every other word i was saying. He was 280 yards straight accros a canyon I could see him with my naked eye, but are radios did not even transmit or recieve. They are going back for sure, back to the drawing board. Atleast he still harvested a Javelina."

They are Just ok,
December 23, 2007
By throckmortonmanfrom Marshall, TX
"I went into this purchase with the expectations that they did not have the range stated on the package. I was hopefull they would do 2 miles at least of the 25. Well they do about that 2 miles. I cant get any close to their own calculated optimal conditions than west Texas. If you set the channels for the higher frequency and use the digital sub codes that is about as good as you will get with these. I do like some features on these units. I will tell you from experience on this;read these reviews, they will help keep you from crushing dissapointments after you get these home."

Motorola T9500,
December 3, 2007
By brian111
"These radios are full of features, but when you use them with any of the 2-way headsets or using the radio by itself, you have to practically shout in them to get them to transmit clearly. If you try to whisper through them your voice doesn't transmit. Not practical when in a situation where you don't things around you to hear what you're saying. I returned them and don't recommend them to hunters. I had problems with my old Taklabouts, but at least they work part of the time."
