"I used these while hunting this year - 2008. I was able to turn up the volume and hear everythimg being said by my guide while we were whispering about the hunt. When it came time to shoot I just pulled the trigger, and they worked as described. The 30-06 blast was reduced to what you would expect with earmuffs. They are very comfortable to shoot with, and the tapered design didn't get in my way while looking through the scope. Summary: for the price - WOW!!!"

"I have a pair of $200 ear muffs. I compaired the two several times for volume and clarity.The $200.00 pair have more volume but no more then would really be needed. As for the acoustics, the Howard Leight Impact Sports take center stage! They have batteries that out last the other one, the batteries are easy to find and cost alot less. They are so easy to change have a thinner profile and fold up much better. I will buy another pair for my wife, without question. The saying is you get what you pay for, but this time it has been proven wrong. The OD Green color brings back my days on the Army rifle team. These have everything going for them. Forget the big brand names with the high price and give these a go, if you don't agree, I will be amazed. Alot of thought when into these ear muffs! Simply put, they are OUTSTANDING! (Ray)"

"Most of the hunters I know don't bother with hearing protection while hunting, but do on the range. I'm a new hunter, and maybe I take issues like this less casually. When Turkey hunting, I tried to use hearing protection only when a potential shot was becoming likely. That didn't work very well. With these, I have them on all the time, so that's one less thing to remember to do when the excitement starts. The ability to amplify sound had benefits, too."

"I work in a machine shop making aircraft engine parts, and it gets pretty loud. I've always used earplugs, because most earmuffs are huge and uncomfortable on me. I have a friend who used these in the military, and recommended them to me. Wow!!! Light weight, low profile, noise cancelling works great, and my mp3 can plug into them for great background sound without being too loud as to be unsafe while working. Have been using them 8 hours a day for weeks and havent replaced the batteries yet!!! Great investment, highly recommend them to anybody, great for target shooting too!!"

"Nice light, comfortable electronic earmuff for shooting. They fold away into compact position and perform as advertised in keeping out loud noise while enhancing normal conversation while wearing. Also at Cabela's they were also priced less than other competitors. The only suggestion is for manufacturer to produce in additional colors."

"I think this product is definitely a good buy. My hearing is not what it used to be. I wasn't hearing distant turkeys that my buddy was hearing, so I bought this unit. The pluses are excellent price and a lack of wind noise found on many units. The minuses are that the unit does not have individual controls for each ear and the volume has to be turned up all the way to be effective."

"Have used a lot of Howard Leight hearing products over the years and find this one falls short. The fit is not nearly as good as the HL non-electronics that I already have. Gave these to my nephew who had no muffs just ear plugs and he seems to be happy with them. Then he paid nothing for them."
