Great Unit for Price,
June 23, 2008
By dukman4293from Orange, Tx
"Great unit for the budget hunter and Fisherman, no need for you to have a handheld GPS, and a depthfinder. Map could use a little more detail, but it gets the job done. This unit is also very accurate within 50ft even with clouds. I can't wait to use it during duck season, it will eliminate me having to drive with one hand and hold a GPS with the other and try to navigate a boat in the dark."

Great features and easy to use,
April 21, 2008
By CrocodileRiverOutfittersfrom Suffolk, VA
"This is my first GPS / Fishfinder combo unit and I installed it on an Ocean Kayak - the unit doesn't run the battery down and provides excellent readings even with the transducer mounted inside the hull with Marine Goop."

250 S/MAP GPS,
January 29, 2008
By conedscfrom Beaufort, SC
"Exactly what I was looking for, great for the Jon boat in case of fog!! No depth contours, but very accurate and displays even the smallest creeks in my area of the SC coastal area. The depth finder works very well also. A bargain for the price."

Perfect for kayak fishing!,
October 30, 2007
By SBSyncrofrom Santa Barbara, CA
"This little baby is perfect for kayak fishing - in a single unit you get a nice sonar AND a GPS - you won't find the features of this unit in anything under $500 and those units will be larger and more difficult to mount than this little gem.
For power, I just used ten (10) NiMH batteries in AA size, producing 12 volts (I got a 10-AA holder from an electronics store). That little pack will power the Cuda for an entire 8 hour day of fishing, with the unit in continuous sonar mode.
Screen resolution is good, and the details it provides are as good or better than others in this price range. The Grayline feature is very helpful in distinguishing the bottom material (kelp, grass, rock, or mud/sand). It even includes built-in maps (the map has an impressive amount of detail for the shoreline area in Southern California!).
Without a doubt the best bang-for-the buck unit out there. The ONLY person I would not recommend this unit to would be someone that already has a GPS and wants to keep it separate, in which case you can trade the GPS feature of this unit for a larger screen and better resolution in a sonar-only unit like the Humminbird Matrix 17 or Eagle Fishmark 480."

Eagle Cuda® 250 S/MAP GPS,
October 16, 2007
By yak4fishfrom North Carolina
"Good price for a combo unit that is small enough for kayak fishing. Map detail isn't as full featured with detail as higher priced units. It would be perfect if it would accept map memory cards but that would increase price of course. Menu is easily navigated."

Very affordable and powerful...,
June 27, 2007
By JohnTheBoaterfrom CA
"This is a great unit for both navigation and sonar. Once you learn how to navigate the menus it is easy to use and has alot of features. Anchor alarm is nice as well as shallow and deep water alarms. You can save your trails to memory so you can recall trips to your faviorate fishing hole etc. I don't think you can find a better unit for the money."
