good pellet gun,
February 13, 2009
By cowawi
"when i got this gun i was very serprised how acurate it was for an inexpensive gun. i have shot many animals with the crossman (mainly birds) and i am very pleased. i set out peaces of broken clay pigions at about 20 yard that were about the size of quarters and i hits them probubly about 8 out of 10 times. i use crossman pelets only because they are the best fitting and most accurate. i think that this is a great gun and it is easy to use."

Crosman Quest 1000X Air Rifle,
February 4, 2009
By gipdrfrom Rockland Co. New York
"Great rifle, feels good and of good quality. The scope looks good and powerful (although I haven't installed it yet). Great velocity and power. (It actually feels like a .22 cal. rifle) My only complaint, if any, will be that it's too loud, it sound like a real gun. Almost the sound of a .22 cal or other small caliber handgun."

mistake,
January 20, 2009
By 9446from New Fairfield Ct
"I bought this rifle based on the Crosman name. I am greatly disapointed in this rifle. The trigger is absoutly terrible. The seal around the barrel is wearing with about 75 rounds through it. The trigger guard retaining screw was striped. The scope is bassicly useless. the ring retaining screws are tiny phillips head type and are almost impossible to tighten sufuciently."

overall good gun,
January 5, 2009
By squirrelhunter15from Fremont, IN
"i bought this gun about 2 years ago and i use it all the time for plinking and small game hunting. i was a little skeptic at first because i couldnt seem to sight it in. the problem was that i was using pointed pellets, so i switched to rounded pellets and the gun is very accurate. shoots very well and scope is also a nice feature. ive shot a lot of squirrels and rabbits with this gun, and is a great gun for the money. happy shooting!"

Crosman Quest 1000X Air Rifle,
December 19, 2008
By neafishermanfrom Pocahontas, AR
"I have had my Crosman Quest for a few years now. I am very disappointed. I have usually had good experience with Crosman. The stock is beautiful and the scope is good and every thing. This means absolutly nothing when its not accurate. I have plenty experience shooting and when I saw the patterns this thing made, I couldn't believe it. I was getting 6 inch patterns at 40 yards. I took out my expensive RWS and in the same environment got a 2 inch pattern. I think there is something wrong with my particular gun but if it was accurate it would be a steal."

Great gun for the money,
December 16, 2008
By buckslayer13from lost in, georgia
"This gun is a hard hitting springer but in my chrony on reads about 900 fps max out of any pellets ive tried. the trigger is okay once i learned to pull with one steady pull and ignore the second stage. shoots 3 inch groups at 40 yards with crosman pointed pellets. its a great gun for the money, but not the best quality out there."

With some work it's great,
September 16, 2008
By AlexfromPittsburghfrom Pittsburgh
"I read all these reviews, and the first thing I did was slather my scope screws and rings and everything with loc-tite. I shot a few hundred pellets through it, as suggested. Now that it's more or less broken in it keeps tight, consistent groups.
I got a chronograph, the F1 Chrony everyone loves so much, and put a few shots through it. I came out just below 900 fps, like 890, 895, etc.
Fyi, if you purchase a pellet trap for indoor shooting, the back steel plate will have some serious dimples in it. I used a series of folded up carpet pieces, cardboard, etc one time as a backstop in my basement, and it shot right through all of that -- probably five layers -- and took chunks out of the concrete wall behind it.
Feels great, good solid stock. Trigger is long and heavy, but just apply smooth steady force like you would with any trigger and you'll have fine groups."

CROSMAN I AM NOT VERY SATISFIED,
July 30, 2008
By Nickiman
"I just don't understand what the problem was with my gun. It only lasted approximently 6 months. But those 6 months were excellent. I took down numerous squirles, rabbits, chipmunks, and birds. The gun seemed to be working great. Untill one day the gun mysteriously stop working. I would cock the gun down by breaking the barrel and it would not click. I properly oiled and cleaned it every couple hundred shots. The gun was never dropped. It does have a couple scraches but seem like they would not effect the guns performance. I have NEVER had a problem with crosman before. I would reccomend that you spend an extra hundred dollars and get a better gun."

Quest 1000 review,
June 26, 2008
By rgmaundfrom SE Va.
"Got mine today from Cabella's. Shipping was very fast, very well packed too. The rifle is a peach! Very powerful and accurate. It'll shred a tin can at 50'. I spent this afternoon sighting it in and breaking it in. About 100 shots at 40'. It'll now consistently hit a 1" bullseye at 40' over the stock sights. Initially I found it impossible to cock. And the scope was junky too. I called Crossman about it. They were very helpful and admitted some went out with poor scopes. Mine will not focus and had pre-stripped hardware. Crossman will send me a better scope out on Monday. They also said the rifles are more tightly fitted now to prevent a loose linkage from letting them shoot low after they wear. She said "It may be against the directions, but you need to smack the bottom of the stock with your hand sharply to initially "break" the barrel down." She was right! I had shoved down on that thing as hard as I dared on a padded work bench to no effect! So I held the barrel and braced the stock on my thigh and bipped the stock bottom with hand to smack it. Popped right out! Then a slow steady hard pull to cock it, load a pellet and close. All set. Now after 100 shots, I can bump it on my thigh to break it and then pull to cock like normal. No problem now. The stock is nice oiled teak wood I believe. The bluing is very well done. Powerful and accurate. I call it an excellent value. Only the cheap scope keeps me from giving it five stars. And it was good to see Crossman will stand behind that. I can't wait to see what I can do with it when they send me the better scope that acually focus's! The rifle itself, I am quite pleased with! Why didn't they make cool stuff like this when I was a kid???"
