XS Big Dots for Defense,

"The XS Sight set is excellent for use on defensive weapons, primarily used within 30 feet or so. The Big Dot is brilliant in daylight shooting with a nice center Tritium glow in low light. I found, after testing the sights on my Glock 17, that the Tritium rear sight was not as bright as expected so I exchanged for the Express set that has a simple, bright vertical white line on the rear sight. As XS Sight marketing material says, "You simply dot the i". I would not recommend this sight set for precision, bulls eye shooting. The Big Dot acquires a target like lightning, but also covers it i.e. if you're trying to hit the Alpha center on an IPSC target, you have trouble discriminating because the Dot covers the entire area at 15 yards. That said, I'm putting the Express Set on my G 26 carry gun because no other sight set I'm familiar with allows you to acquire a target faster. Better shooters than me will have no trouble using the sights for IPSC or IDPA shooting, but, as an average shooter, I think it's a much better sight for defensive weapons. Overall, great product and an excellent company with strong customer relationships."

"I bought these for my carry pistol (Glock 30SF). They are great. You just have to remember to adjust your sight placement for targets 25 yards and greater. For quick acquisition they can't be beat. I've already bought a second set for my next Glock."

"I hate the standard Glock sights, but so far I love these. They are quick to point and easy to figure out. They just make sense. You can see them easily in all light conditions and the tritium vials are very bright. I would not hesitate to buy these again. I should have bought them years ago."

"Was initially very excited to try these out on my G20SF. Now, not so sure. Shot the G20SF stock sights. Inside the 10-ring easy every time from 10-15yards. Changed to XS sights. Now shooting 6+ inches low at 10 yards. Checked 4 different boxes of ammo. Same thing. Called Bo at XS. He said it was probably me. I'll be heading to the range again soon and keep trying..."

"With my preference for straight eight hienie sites, these work as well for quick site acquisition and are quite accurate. "I bought the XS Big Dot Tritium Night Sights to put on my Glock 9mm subcompact handgun, which is my primary defensive and carry weapon. I was looking for good high visibility sights for low light conditions and quick sight acquisition since I am over 60 and wear trifocals. I found that these sights work superbly to meet those needs. Fine accuracy does suffer somewhat due to the size of the front sight, but it is more than adequate for defensive handgun purposes and with the express style rear sight, they are very fast to acquire and get on target. I highly recommend them for this purpose."

"I was a bit skeptical on how these sights would do. At the range I found target acquisition to be very quick and accurate. Just focus on you target and your eye will pick up the dot. After a few rounds down range you will get the hang of it, thus becoming confident. Installation was easy especially if you have installed sights before."

"Pros: 1. Great visibility in low light. 2. Overall construction is good 3. Dot the "i" is very easy to acquire. Cons: The only thing that could be construed as even remotely negative is that the front sight sits relatively high. It hasn't been a problem, but I can promise someone will have a scenario where their pistol doesn't fit in their favorite holster."

"Once you reach the half-century mark, handgun sight visibility, especially in poor light, becomes a major problem. XS 24/7 Big Dot Tritium Sights are the answer. That big 1/8" white front bead nestled into the rear express v-notch shows up great in normal light, and in poor light (or even total darkness - caution, for safety you must be sure you can see what you are aiming at) the front glowing tritium dot and rear tritium vertical bar make it seem like your eyes have gone back in time to younger days. These sights are FAST to acquire, and are plenty accurate for self-defense ranges. They only made a 1" group size difference for me at 50' compared to the standard square blade front, square notch rear sights. They are also very easy to install if you follow the directions. I have them on 6 handguns, with more to be fitted, and will also be putting a set on my CAR-15 as back-ups to the holographic optic. Thay are more expensive than some sight systems, but what is your piece of mind, or life, worth to you?"
