July 21, 2008
By JP08from Sacramento, CA
"I retrofitted my 18-ft boat trailer with this actuator, including new stainless steel brakes and brake lines from Cabelas. The installation and set up was very simple and easy. Price & shipping time was great too."

Disc Brakes and Actuator,
May 5, 2008
By rt47from Western or
"This was a retro fit to a trailer with tandem 3500# axles with drum brakes. Brakes and hub assemblies went on flawlessly and easily. Less than 2 hours for complete install including adding the flex brake lines to the pre-existing hard lines. The actuator was plug and play. Very easy to install. 1/2 hour. Takes 2 people to bleed the brakes unless you have a power brake bleeder. The first time out it was a little sticky so the brakes got a little hot but no problems after that. If this is a new install on a trailer with no brakes I would allow double the time to account for the drilling of the holes to install the actuator and run and secure the brake lines to the trailer."

"I found this trailer brake to work very will. I would recommend the buying of one. I did have to replace the wheel cylinders at the same time that I put on the actuator."

Actuator did exceed my expectations,
November 21, 2006
By Danogcfrom Western Washington State
"After much anticipation and research I decided to go ahead and add surge type trailer brakes to my new boat trailer by installing the system myself. I went with the Tie Down Engineerings Unit because of the positive feedback I obtained and the reasonable price. The entire project went very smooth and the Tie Down Trailer Brake Actuator worked well exceeding my expectations in documentation, quality, and smoothness in operation. A great unit worth consideration."

By buster77from New York,NY
"Excellent product and very easy to install. I have an old trailer and the brakes failed due to a faulty old actuator. The new Tie Down Actuator I purchased is excellent quality and has made my braking system safe and like new again."
