terrain requires extra support, Merrell has added microinjection external heel counters,
injection-molded
shank supports and compression-molded EVA footframes. Reflex® outsole promotes both uphill
and
downhill safety and support on most any surface.

"You will be very pleased with this boot in almost every way. Durable without sacrificing comfort. They feel a little flat footed on concrete and general floors, but are breaking in more every day! Excellent traction! Soft leather,fit like a glove, not hot, breathe well and lastly cool reflective lace eyelets that you won't see right away. Oh , order your regular tennis shoe size."

"To be fair, I wore out a pair of European all leather hiking boots and thought I would give these a try because of the favorable ratings. The shoes (these are not really boots) are comfortable, but they just do not compare to leather hiking boots. They are soft, and feel more like a tennis shoe than a boot. They are quite wide in the forefoot, and when laced to fit the foot, they lose their shape. For me, they are not high enough, and created a discomfort at the ankle, though this may have resolved itself if worn for a longer period of time. I don't want to underrate this comfortable shoe, but if you are looking for a hiking boot with a solid, supportive, over the ankle feel, look elsewhere. Around the house, yard, easy trail, or an urban setting, I think these would be great."

"This is my second pair of Merrell hikers. The first pair that I had leaked. I returned them to Cabela's where they gave me a PARTIAL refund. I thought maybe the first pair leaking was a fluke so I bought the same boot again. Same result while walking thriugh wet grass my feet got wet. Comfortable boot, but Gore-Tex isn't supposed to leak. This time I'll buy Danner's"
