"This product works very well, as long as you go by the directions. If you fill a bottle that is not cooled down like the directions say you only get a half a bottle refill. How ever if you cool the bottle down you get a good full fill. I did have two bottles that leaked when I tryed to fill them, it was the bottles that were bad. I refilled seven bottles and two I could not use. All in all this is an excellent product, but if it leaks most likely its the bottle try another one.

"Found I could get more in if I left the empty cylinder in the freezer for a while before filling. Still doesn't fill completely full but certainly is more cost effective than purchasing new cylinders and the tossing them when empty."

"This adapter is exactly what it says it is.
If you are sick of paying $5 for two 1lb. propane tanks everytime you head out, then this is the product for you.
What you need to know to make this work properly:
1. Stick your 1lb. bottles in the freezer at least 30 min. prior to filling.
2. Warm your 20lb. tank (in a hot bath tub or similar) prior to filling.
3. Attach adapter to 20lber 1st, then attach 1lb. bottle.
4. Turn 20lb. tank upside down and rest on handle.
5. Open valve to begin filling.
6. Wait ~10 minutes.
7. Pull overfill (schrader) valve on 1 lb. tank with needle nose pliers to bleed gas and ensure proper fill with LIQUID propane.
8. Turn off 20lb. tank and disconnect 1lb. bottle.
9. Your 1lb bottle will now be completely full.
10. repeat steps 1-9 4x and you've more than paid for this handy adapter!!!"

"With over 100 reviews I was surprised nobody has actually measured what the fill rate is for this device. So here you go... I found that a brand new bottle has 16.25-16.5 oz of propane (I weighed them full and then empty). I filled each of two bottles under different conditions. Using a large (20#) bottle at 60 degF I filled two 1 lb bottles at the same (70 degF) temperature and got them 69% full (to the nearest 1/4 oz). I then chilled two bottles in the refrigerator (45 degF) for one hour and filled them to 80% full. I then chilled two in the freezer (9 degF) for one hour and got them 92% full.
I waited until warmer weather when the large bottle was at 70 degF and tried the freezer trick again. I filled four bottles, one right after the other and achieve a whopping 103% (17oz) into all four of them.
Lesson learned, the warmer the large bottle and colder the small ones, the better the fill rate.
Now you know..."

"I have already saved money using this product. I don't get a full bottle but I do manage to get them 1/2 to 3/4 full. I do alot of ice fishing and I'd rather not have to haul my big tank on the ice due to the weight. Be sure to follow the directions."

"WHEN YOU NEED TO FILL A SMALL BOTTLE THIS IS GREAT. IT IS CHEAPER FILLING THEM THIS WAY THAN BUYING THEM. ITS EASYIER CARRING A SMALL BOTTLE THAN THE 20 POUND TANK. I USE IT FOR A COLMAN BLACK CAT HEATER WHILE CAMPING AND HUNTING. IT LASTED ABOUT 6 HOURS BUT BY THAT TIME I WOULD BE FINISHED WITH WHAT I WAS DOING."

"Good product it does a good job of refilling disposable 1 pound cylinders from my 20 lb. tanks, for Mr. Heater Little Buddy Heater that I use in my hunting blinds. It saves me money because during hunting seasons I am out in my blinds everyday and when it is cold I use a lot of fuel and purchasing one pound cylinders can get expensive."
