Unlike air mattresses which circulate cold air beneath the sleeper, the Deluxe Camp Bed insulates the sleeper. Permits the use of lighter sleeping bags. It can be used as an exercise mat, ground mat, or as a station wagon or boat bed. Load cameras, binoculars, or bottled goods inside for protection while traveling. Its insulation qualities also make it a portable cooler. Frozen game or fish rolled inside will not thaw out for many long hours. Attached roll-up straps. Measures: 48" x 78" x 3". Weight: 9-1/2 lbs.

Cabela's Deluxe Camp Bed-Large,
June 5, 2007
By Warrantyronfrom Mountains of Colorado
"My wife and I liked this item so much that after over 5 years of heavy use, we replaced it with the exact same item. The thick 3 inch loft not only easily protects you from ground moisture, but the heavy density of the internal foam ensures a wonderful nights rest. I'm a veteran camper and have tried most everything on the market. Air mattresses are comfortable, but after a few times they either develop a mysterious leak or the cold nights air will cause it to contract and turn mushy leaving you with the impression a leak developed. The Deluxe Camp Bed won't let you down, it works in hot weather, cold weather, damp or dry. Of course, back-packers need not apply. The double-wide size is strictly for car/truck/camper use. If this fits your intended purpose, you'll be happy with this very capable sleeping pad."

Cabela's Deluxe 48" x 78" x 3" camp bed,
November 25, 2006
By Campersfrom Carrier Mills, IL
"My wife and I were looking for a little added comfort for our fold down beds on our travel trailer. We researched several different available items and after talking with your sales representives chose the Deluxe camp bed. We bought two for each bed in the travel trailer.
The bed gave us the added extra comfort we needed for a better night's sleep away from home. And since the beds in our trailer do have to fold up when traveling, the camp bed is easy to just roll up and tuck under the couch or dinette for travel.
We thought that would be the only times that we would use the camp beds, but they are perfect for when our grandkids want to spend the night. Just spread them on the floor and you have an easy and fun bed for the grandkids.
The camp beds are comfortable, easy to roll and unroll, and were affordable compared to some of the other products that were available to us. Thanks for a great product.

Cabela's Deluxe Camp Bed - 48"x78"x3",
August 15, 2008
By Zak150from Edmonton, Alberta
"I ordered 2 of the camp beds for use in our tent. The Wife and I found them to be very comfortable on our 5 day excursion to the B.C. interior. We also had our 2 1/2 year old and our 8 month old sons with us and there were no complaints. We had to air them out for a few days after recieving them but have enjoyed them since."

Love that mattress,
August 11, 2008
By kvjamesfrom New Jersey
"The only camping mattress I have been able to get some sleep on. I don't like air mattresses and foam pads are too narrow and too thin. This is thick, wide, and very comfortable. Not for hiking as it is bulky/heavy, but excellent for short haul. It is also warm. Highly recommended."

"I purchased this pad to improve the bed in my camper. I was able to remove the foam pad from the zippered bag and custom fit it for my bed. What a difference!"

Everything I hoped it would be.,

"I ordered the camp bed and liked it so much that I purchased a second one. The camp bed is very light(my wife and my 10 year old son can lift it easily with one arm), and its very comfortable. When I lay on it I don't feel the ground beneath me. Its big enough for my wife and myself to sleep on it together and I'm 6-1. The foam mattress has a cloth cover which can be removed and washed. We use it for camping, extra beds when our kids have friends over, and our kids like to lay on it when they are watching tv because we have tile floors. I'm very happy with my camp beds."

"I use the bed in my '98 Coleman pop-up cmaper. It is a perfect fit on what Coeman calls a "queen" sized bed. Makes it much more comfortable than just the original foam mattress."

Comfy camp bed,
June 9, 2008
By badbackcamperfrom Frederick, MD
"Purchased this as alternative to air mattress that was uncomfortable for my wife's back after surgery. It was very comfortable and worked great. Pros: comfortable, worked very well and can be used to insulate frozen game! Cons: the bed is very large and took up almost half of rear of our Subaru legacy wagon; one of the wood reinforcements broke when I applied pressure to roll up the bed - won't really affect function though and easy to replace due to good design of bed"

"Very disappointed when it arrive because of mildew odor in foam. Have used foam for years, never had anything that came close to this. Aired out for several days before our trip, then returned to Cabela's. Skunky!"

"We bought this to use on our 5th wheel pullout sofa bed. What a huge improvement. Makes the sofa bed actually comfortable and usable. Worked so well that we are getting a second one for the main bed. It is much to big to use for backpacking but is great for car or trailer camping."

great camp bed,
May 27, 2008
By davidedgefrom Michigan
"This is a great camp bed if you don't have to hike any distance to camp. I bought it as a replacement for air mattresses that regularly spring leaks and go flat, and while it is unwieldy for any hiker, it functions beautifully as a comfortable camp bed. It's also a superb way of ensuring that one need never buy another camp bed, and it's large enough for two."

unexpectedly delighted,
May 18, 2008
By flyngtigrfrom Adirondacks, NY
"My husband & I bought this sleeping pad because it fit our tent perfectly. We didn't think much of it, we just needed something light to keep the roots & rocks from bugging us all night.
Wow! We just returned from camping 2 nights in 30 degree weather - it was very firm, yet comfortable and kept us amazingly warm! It was by far the best night of sleep I've ever had camping!
It is a little big, but we car camped with our Mini Cooper and it wasn't too large for the car - we still had plenty of room for our other stuff.
I HIGHLY recommend it - very comfortable & warm - very impressive!"
