"What a cute little pistol. The craftsmanship is good, the idea is keen and the price is right. What more can I say? For those of you who want or require a vintage-looking derringer in a concealed package, this little number can't be beat."

My Perfect Purchase,
August 27, 2007
By schoolmarmfrom West Harrison, IN
"I could not be more pleased with my little pistol. Not only is "she" beautifully crafted of elegant materials, she is completely period correct for my 1860's impression. Our debut was for a local "train robbery" and she stole the show while holding up the Federals to get back the stolen payroll box. The book hiding place was icing on the cake and perfect for my school teacher persona. Many people thought the book was a Bible, however, but I assured them it was The Art of Self-Defense! No doubt about it, there were lots of "ooohs" and "aahs" when I revealed my secret weapon. This aesthetically pleasing set makes a great conversation piece and paves the way for lots of witty repartee. I have not fired her yet and probably will rarely live fire her. The hammer action is very tight and there is no way that I have found to release the hammer, even from half cock, without pulling the trigger, which does not descend until full cock. The hammer action is too strong to hold back so I have been advised by a very courteous Cabela's employee to place a cap on the nipple to avoid any damage. I had numerous questions about my "protection" from the passengers and reenactors alike, and credited Pedersoli and Cabela's all the way. You will most likely be getting some more orders for your derringer in a box!"
