"for the price ,you cant beat the quality of this kit to display your trophy. one tip- remove as much meat as you can from the base of your tail. the less there is the better it will fit in the recessed area that is for it. then the screw will be long enough to hold both pieces together. I took my time and had it together in 10-15 minutes. My trophy looks great hangin at my camp!"

"I agree with most of the 3 or 4 star reviews. You do need to do some slight modifications to get it to fit and the screw is worthless. However with a bit of work you can make a very nice looking mount with this kit. I havn't done any taxidery work in about a hundred years and found it fun to put this display together. My turkey looks great and am currently working on my turkey from this year."

"I put it together last night and it took just a few minutes and looks good on the wall. Even my wife liked it. Pretty easy kit to put together, except pretty bad instructions. I figured it out on my own."

"I have purchased (2) kits now, and both kits came with too small of a screw that holds both pieces of wood together.For what it costs they could put 2 or 3 different lengths of wood screws in kit.... thanks"

"Will buy more as the tail fan collection grows.
Good points.
-You probably could not build this for less money with raw materials.
-Finished mount looks great.
-Straight forward
Not so good points
-This is laminated partial board, NOT wood (Still looks good)
-The "cut out to insert the turkey fan is a tad bit on the thin side so make sure you do a great job on fleshing the turkey tail and or put a shim in it.
Recommendation for use
Print a good picture of you with your trophy and cut to the shape of the foremost plaque. Then glue it on as a face plate."

"I have purchased 6 of these mounting kits and am very happy with the result. It is an inexpensive way to display your trophies and looks very clean and neat. I mounted three fans and beards for my father who displays them over his desk. Everyone who sees them comments on how nice they look. As long as I keep shooting turkeys, I will continue to buy this product."

"I used a longer screw and mounted both legs on my last one at 9 and 3 o'clock. The front piece is not totally flush with the back except on the bottom but it looks great. I'm ordering up another one right now!"

"I wasn't real happy with the quality. I am a novice and the directions weren't to my satisfaction. I am sure that if I did this before, that it wouldn't be a big deal, but I haven't and with the directions supplied, I wouldn't even take a chance. I returned it"

"While the kit is attractive, the fastener in the kit is too short to effectively mount the front to the back. I was able to find a longer fastener and make it work but one should be aware of this problem and be prepaired to address it."

"having used this display in the past, i was able to use it again after finally bagging my Merriam's. Once i got the fan cured the way i wanted it, the display kit was extremely easy to use, and the fan/beard combo looks great on our wall. My 4-year old daughter couldn't quit admiring it. of all my fans, this one is the one i'm most proud of and the display kit is the best, easiest way to show it off!"

"The kit had everything needed to display my son-in-law's very first turkey gobbler, a nice Rio. The instructions were clear and everything went well. He's now proudly displaying his turkey fan and beard in his home. I highly recommend this product, even if you don't have any experience with mounting your turkey fan and beard."

"Keep in mind that what you're doing is TAXIDERMY, and by its very nature will take some time and effort. In addition, not all turkeys are created equal and a one size fits all kit isn't necessarily going to be a reality. I found it necessary to increase the depth and width of the recessed areas to fit my fan and beard in there. But, the issues that I ran into aren't necessarily ones to be blamed on the manufacturer. Through and through, I definately will be ordering more of these in the future. The only reason I did drop it from 5 to 4 stars is the fact that I too found the brass screw to be too short. Given that it has been a complaint in this review section since the very beginning, you would think someone would have caught on and started sending them with longer screws. Oh well. For the price, it was well worth it."

"The first one I ordered came in with the tail mount damaged (the internal package was not opened or damaged, this must have occurred at the factory). Cabelas immediately send me a replacement which was fine.
As mentioned in a lot of the reviews, the screw is still too short and I had to replace it with a longer brass screw.
I had a hard time fitting the tail stump into the recessed area of the mount. Being somewhat handy I fixed the problem by hollowing out the recessed area. The tail section and beard now fit perfectly.
The fact that the finished product passed my wifes inspection and is now hanging on my poarch wall is an indication of how nice the finished product is. I would have given it a 5 star rating except for the modifications that I had to make should not be required."
