I bought 2 of these and Im glad I did. They are very warm and comfortable. The outer shell does look and feel kind of like neoprene like some of the other reviews stated, but I still think its a great sweatshirt.

Ideal for active wear

I am 6'1" 160 lbs with a 32 " waist. The medium is a great fit with light weight clothing underneath (2 loose fit, compression type shirts). I would call this a European fit (designed for a sleek fit on tall, fit/not bulky person). American fit tends more toward greater girth to height ratio. The fit on me is comfortable but without much space to wear anything bulky underneath. If i wanted a loose fit or to be able to wear anything bulky underneath I would get a Large instead of Medium
It should be ideal for active wear as it is all polyester. I look for all man made fibers in active wear as it doesn't hold moisture. It has the added benefit of extremely long wear. I have only briefly tried this outside in the wind but is seems to be more windproof than your typical fleece. I presume that is due to the tight jersey weave of the outer layer.
I really like the hood with the stand up collar. The hood is a 3 panel, cowl type hood that is large enough so that it doesn't bind when you turn your head.
I also like the quarter zip front it is easier to put on than a traditional sweatshirt. The zipper extends all the way to the top of the collar making the collar more functional as a neck warmer/wind break when zipped up. It has a small storm flap that extends around from the back, over the top of the collar so that you don't feel the zipper under your chin when it is zipped all the way up.
In short the attention to detail in design is tremendous. The quality seems to be up to Cabela's usual standard and the material is practical and durable. I would term the fit great for someone of a slender to athletic body shape. The only way to improve this design would be to put in underarm zips for better ventilation.

Don't like the outer shell material, feels almost like foam. The " Dusky Red " looks more like brick red. Also not very warm. I will be returning this item.

I bought one for my boyfriend. VERY IMPRESSED. The berber is amazingly soft and comfortable, the pockets are great. Ordered the other three colors the other day because he loved it so much!
