Patagonia vs UA

I own both a Patagonia R1 1/4 zip and UA Hundo Fleece 1/4 zip. The Patagonia is twice as warm and fits like a glove. The UA is loose and sloppy ( size is not the issue it is the cut pattern). The Patagonia has tight cuffs and on short side, but the warmth and breath-abilty is way superior than UA.

This was a fairly nice-looking pullover when I pulled it out of the packaging. However, after the first and subsequent washings, it has lost its sheen and has continued pilling. Looks a little ratty after very limited use though it is quite warm considering how lightweight it is. I just expected much better durability considering what I spent.
