This hook remover is fairly easy to use and does a good job of getting to deeply hooked locations. My only negative remark is that on thin wire hooks the remover tends to bend the hook easily if too much pressure is used when holding the hook. All-in-all, I use it regularly on nmy boat.

bought the hook remover for sharkin, and have had no problems with clean releases on multiple threshers. the hook remover not only keeps your hand away from the danger zone, but its grasping armature helps remove the hook easily for a softer, and quicker release.

These things are heavy, as a backpacking fisherman, these are just too heavy to carry around. They could be a little longer. I have used cheaper similar products that work as well and better. I only bought these because of the ratings prior users gave them. I was not really happy i had bought these and have since gone out and gotten a pair of the cheap
ones.
They work.
