These downrigger releases serve every fishing need. Simple-to-use
releases hold line at a variety of tensions. Stacker model allows you to
use a second line. Walleye release has tension for lighter lures and fish
strikes. Available: Single release, Stacker release, Walleye release.
I have found the off shore releases work well but are priced a little too high. If the releases had a tension adjustment on each one it would be worth the cost but they don't.
The light Tackle Walleye releases are quite stiff for 6-8 lb line. The Blacks release looks like a better way to go with the screw tension adjuster but I'm a beginner at downrigger fishing and not sure what to order for lighter lake fishing.
Slick little deal. Just a pinch and twist and off we go. Easy to use and set. Holds the line with adjustable firmness. I use 8LB line for Coho and 6lb for Walleyes and have never had a problem tripping the release.
