Big Jon Otter Boat

The Big Jon Otter Boat alleviates most of the problems encountered by other styles of planer boards. The Otter Boat's unique shape creates minimal water resistance, allowing it to achieve greater distance from the boat. Tracks straight and will not porpoise. The Otter Boat can be switched from right to left in seconds. Per each.

This board starts out behind the boat with only 75ft of line out, despite using an 8ft mast. Add one single line with a tandem on it (standard 9oz tandem) and these boards can't keep the line tight. It'll even spin from the pull of just one line on it. Forget about putting an umbrella on it, it can't handle it.
An email to the company using their contact info on their site about how to improve it went unreturned. Useless in typical Chesapeake Bay trolling conditions, now I know why I've never seen anyone use these.

very good in the waves

otters track very well in rough water, however i did place a flag on them for the pleasure boaters to see! would have given a 5 rating but they do not handle weeds as good as the double board type of planner boards. but the trade off is well worth a few weeds!!
