Single 8" manual planer reel. Comes with an adjustable clamp that securely keeps the reel in place. Clamp fits any rail or mast from 7/8" to 1-1/2". Includes 150 ft. of highly visible 135-lb. test tow line.

Big Jon Reels Crack

I purchased two of these reels for use on Lake Erie. After one full season they both developed cracks across the web of the reel by the handle. This is a weak spot and the reels should not be used for anything than retrieving slack line, do not attempt to "reel in" the boards! In addition, the clutch and drag system is noisy and erratic. I have added an aluminum bar with handle mount to spread the force to the reel spoke which looks a lot stronger.

Good quality product. Noisy. I placed a vinyl washer to tone down the metal on metal rattle. These are still some of the best on the market.

I purchased 2 of these last year. the bolt that holds the handle on stripped out of one of them. you also have to feed the line or it will come out of eyelet and get wrapped around reel.not worth the money in mybook.

This reel provides great size and ergonomics to get the job done. It does have one draw back. Its metal on metal/graphite drag system is noisy and uneven. I added a nylon washer to mine and the reel works fine. I love its massive size and quality components. If you don't mind adding the nylon washer you cant go wrong.
