Developed by Captain Samuel Walker and produced by Colt in 1847, the Walker Revolver was the largest gun manufactured by the company. It also held the largest powder charge of any black-powder revolver. Only about 1,000 of the originals were produced, making the Walker one of the most sought-after firearms by collectors. Color case-hardened steel frame. Brass trigger guard. Barrel length: 9". Overall length: 15-3/4". Weight: 4-1/4 lbs.
My Colt Walker Uberti arrived in a timely fashion, approximately 2 weeks from date of order. The craftsmanship on the Walker is superb being similar to the other firearms I own that are Brownings. This a.m. we went out to the club/range where I put 24 rounds thru the revolver. The big cannon can really shoot. Several guys at the club came up to admire the quality of this biggin! It's fun to discuss the history surrounding the gun-- Colt's and that of our Country. On sale from Cabela's and using Card points, I certainly got my monies worth. 10 thumbs up.
This is an outstanding replica of the walker. This pistol is handsome just to look at without shooting it. Finish was A+, no burrs or nicks, brass was polished around trigger guard on outside but not on inside, all I did was take the guard off and some brass polish, looks just like outside. This pistol weighs 4.5 pounds so recoil is almost absent, even with 60 grains barely moved my wrists. Number 10 caps, 454 balls, my gun shoots bullseyes at 30 yards. If you want to relive the days of Samuael Walker, this gun is for you.
if you are interested in a black powder pistol that is authentic in virtually every detail this is IT. I will convert mine to .45 Colt centerfire as I have already done to my 1st model Dragoon....
