Great Gun!!
Date:
Received my gun today and it was better than I expected after reading the previous reviews. It was everything that Cabelas advertised it to be. Being it was on sale at a great saving's I was willing to take the chance that it would not come with the safety notches,,,but mine was perfect in every way,,,what else more can I say. It is a great gun.

Spiller & Burr
Date:
I found this gun to be extremely user friendly & very easy to field strip & clean. Very little gas discharge. Shoots about 4" too high but a pleasure to shoot. There are some mill marks in the top of the brass frame but I'm more concerned about shooting than looks as this is to be used & not a wall hanger.
Trying to registar it on Piettas website is impossible though.
Great bang for the buck.

Marginal, if I'm being honest
Date:
If you're not fussed about fit or finish, this is the revolver for you. The brass frame on my revolver somewhat pitted and replete with crude milling marks, albeit polished milling marks. THERE ARE NO SAFETY NOTCHES, CONTRARY TO CABELAS' DESCRIPTION! The entire gun needs to have the sharp edges removed, especially the cylinder and bolt. The grips overhang in several areas, and the cylinder pin latch needed shimming to make it work properly.
If you like performing some home gunsmithing, you'll be very pleased with this revolver. Think of it as a kit that is assembled, and take the gun apart and hand finish it.

good little BP revolver
Date:
It's Pietta, so you will have more pleasure if you know how to take apart a single action revolver. There were some tool marking on the cylinder stop, and there were overhanging edges on the trigger. Filing these down, and with emery paper polish, the trigger and action got remarkably smoother.
It shoots high, but straight. It's easy to find your target.
The gun looks big and chunky in the photo, but in reality, it is a little smaller than a Colt Navy clone and with the brass frame, the weight is lighter than a Remington clone.
If you like the looks of a brass frame, but worry about the strength of brass vs. steel, get this gun.
