Pietta Model 1851 Navy Civilian .44 Caliber Revolver
It wasn’t long after the original 1851 Navy became a standard-issue favorite among the U.S. military that Samuel Colt began production of his now famous civilian model. Just like the originals, these accurate reproductions include a silver-plated backstrap and trigger guard, octagon barrel, steel frame and walnut grips. Barrel length: 7-1/2". Overall length: 13-1/2". Weight: 2 lbs. 9 oz.
Beautifully made I own n original and this so perfect in it's reproduction I can't believe it. Pietta makes some great black powder weapons. Try one the price is right and they come without any issues and very well packed.
I have 4 of Cabela's cap & ball hand guns, some I have cost twice as much not one of of them is cheaply made in anyway shape or form, perfection , once you open the box and hold it in your hands you will just put it on a stand and stare at it, the craftmanship is so detailed i never knew they went this far back in the day, Trust me there is not one they sell that you will not dislike, my oppion if there is a MFG blem or something I red on some feed backs just return it to Cabela's and they will make it right, I have had not one issue with anything they sell. and they are getting very popular again i wish I was into them sooner but it is never to late to invest in one of these,

1851 Civilian .44 Cal. - Great Gun!
Date:September 6, 2011
Snatched it out of the UPS man's hands as soon as he opened the truck door and hot-footed down to my range with an ample quantity of FFFG Triple Se7en powder, round balls, conicals from a Lee mould and #10 Remington caps (all I use is Remington caps) for a morning of shooting. After cleaning all of the oil out of the cylinder and removing the nipples to properly grease the threads, I put it through it's paces. At 15 yards with 35 grains of powder and a round ball, it shot a pretty little 6-shot cluster measuring just 1" resting on a sandbag off of the bench. It shot 4" high, but windage was perfect. The conicals shot 6" high, but clustered in the 1.5" range for 6 shots. At 50 yards, I started shooting my 18" x 18", 1" thick steel plate with consistant center hits. Besides being a stunningly beautiful gun, it's a real shooter! It points good, feels good in the hands, and is very well made and balanced. The 7-1/2" barrel is nice, but I also have a 5-1/2" barrel, and a 3" barrel from an Avenging Angle, which fit the frame like a glove. The frame is basically an 1860 with rebated cylinder and an 1851 grip frame, which fits my hands better. If you want one, buy one! For an afternoon of shooting fun, you can't beat these guns.
