Tuf-Foot toughens a dog's soft, sore or tender feet. It's used as a conditioner or a treatment. It contains
Balsams peru, tolu, styrax, aloe, benzoin, and isopropyl alcohol. Comes in an 8-oz. bottle.
One of my Labs has an itch allergy on his paws ... seems nothing works until Tuf-Foot was applied. Seems to help. Also have a nasty seed pod called Goat Heads that bothers the dogs out on the run area. They seem to have fewer 'stick' them after applying Tuf-Foot. Good product and I will continue to use it.
One cracked or missing pad and your dog is done for the season. I know from experience. Use Tuf-foot once a week when the serious training and hunting season starts and forget about foot problems. Tuf-foot goes on easily without a fight and is very economical. Quail hunting is especially hard on a dogs' feet here in Southern California. Everything stabs, cuts, sticks or wears away pads. Tuf-foot will keep your dog in the game!
I've used this item for about 6 years on several breeds of dogs, mostly waterdogs. It works and works well. Apply with cooton balls seems to be the key for me. Comment: I purchased a bottle from Cabelas 12/18/11. While treating a stray dogs pads he turned the bottle over. The nice people at Tuf-Foot had me another bottle by 12/24/11. Now that is service and a Merry Christmas!
If you start applying on pads 2 weeks before season, the dogs feet will be as tough as leather. Have been using for years and even works to toughen up human hands.
