The pad product is oil-based and is "painted" on. Our dog hates it being put on. It will stain your carpets. Make sure to be able to keep the dog outside during and after application; off wood decks because it soaks in there too.
The applicator is well thought out to just "paint" it on, but again our dog hates this being applied.

Pad protector

I have used this product as both a healer and a pre-hunt protector. Difficult to be sure how effective it is since there is no way to determine how different individual dogs respond to being in the field or how fast they would have healed without it. It seems to work best as a pre-hunt preventitive and I use it especially when I am taking a dog to the woods for grouse or woodcock hunting where sharp sticks can cause soreness rapidly. Worth the protection to prevent a laid-up dog.

This product may be good for conditioning, however if the pad is cut or peeling, there are no miracle cures. The best course is to keep the dog from hunting on it and allowing it to heal on its own.

Great product to have in case of emergencies

This product can be used hand in hand with the EMT Spray and is vital to any Animal First Aid Kit. I do Animal and Rapport rescue and this product is carried with. (Although I can't use it on the raptors.)
