This 16-ga. steel vault has a No-Eyes® keypad with mulitple user-selectable access codes and a tamper-resistant feature that temporarily locks the mechanism after five wrong codes are entered. Guns are cradled in protective foam. MicroVault is a compact, lightweight notebook-style vault that fits easily in a briefcase or day pack. It includes a 4-ft. security cable and requires four AA batteries (not included).

Convenient Little Safe

The MicroVault safe is the right size to put in a drawer of a night stand or luggage. It is not bulky or too heavy. It offers peace of mind that your handgun is safe. The internal padding is adequate but does not stop the firearm from shifting around if moved. I was able to fit my Glock 19 with three additional magazines inside with room to spare. The tolerances on the seams are very tight which should protect it from being pried open. It gives you the option of securing it with a cable (included) or bolting it down. Programming the lock can be a little tricky the first time and I would keep the directions handy for when you change the batteries. As stated the only drawback that I see is the thin internal padding. I plan on fixing this by adding an additional layer. Overall I am very happy with the unit. One tip, check the box before you buy the safe. The first box I grabbed had a dented safe in it so I was glad I checked. This was obviously caused by it being thrown around.

I purchased this unit and it must have been defective or of very poor quality. One of the buttons quit working 15 minutes after I reprogramed the combination. I was really excited when I first saw this unit. The size is just right, however, there was not enough foam inside to keep my pistol from shifting around if I tilted the unit side to side. I suppose one could add extra foam, but in my opinion it should hold the firearm in place while transporting it from place to place, not allowing it to bang against the interior walls of the vault. I also like the idea of other models that don't rely on batteries and electronics. I returned this unit promptly and of course Cabelas gave me a no hassle return, so, I'll keep looking for something better.
