Head Shot
Date:
I had a tough time getting any hits with lead pellets. On the first PBA pellet I got a direct head shot on a rabbit. These seem to fly much straighter.

Deepest penetration
Date:
I test fired these pellets against 12 other types by various manufacturers. These were all either pointed or some type of rounded or pointed hollow points. I fired several of each type into a thick soft cover book, and compared pages penetrated. The PBA Raptor was the impressive winner, with only two others coming close. The Raptors stayed dead straight, with no noticeable deformity. The lack of expansion may seem negative to some, but none of the hollow points I tested exhibited any sign of "mushrooming", just barely began to slightly expand. Several of the others also were keyholing. I used a 900 fps springer at 25 feet. Longer range testing comes next, but for now, the Raptors are well worth the extra cost.

Very poor product
Date:
These are advertised as a high velocity, deep penetrating pellet. They accomplish this with a super lightweight pellet that is a sloppy fit in the barrel. It may be fast, but you will not hit a basketball from 30 yards! This from an RWS 48 that will group in 2" with domed pellets.
