I purchased this product because i could only raise my motor so far til it was hitting my boat seat...This was causing rub marks on both the motor and seat. The Swivl-Eze Offset works great for that but if you are not careful sitting down or moving your seat WILL shoot out from under you.

I PURCHASED THIS ITEM SO THAT I WOULD HAVE ADDED ROOM BETWEEN THE FORWARD SEAT AND BOW CONSOLE. WHILE THE 6" OFFSET IS A GREAT IDEA, THERE IS NO WAY TO LOCK THE PEDESTAL IN PLACE RESULTING IN A CONSTANTLY MOVING CLEARANCE FROM 6" FORWARD TO 6" AFT AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. AS SOON AS YOU SHIFT YOUR WEIGHT THE SLIGHTEST, IT MOVES TOO. IT SIMPLY DOES NOT MEET ITS INTENDED PURPOSE.

The works just fine if you don't care which direction the offset is facing however I purchased this because I wanted it to face in one direction only. There is no way to lock it into a fixed postion.
