rivets are poor quality aluminum that waer the heads off very easily , plastic connector is very weak , would not even use as a emergecy back up

Broke in a bad place

While the take down feature is a good idea for a spare oar, I was rowing my two man pontoon craft at the entry to a class II rock garden and my downstream oar broke when I leaned into it while performing an upstream ferry. It broke at the ferrule.
Since I take it on rivers, I no longer trust this product and will be replacing with single piece shafts and keep the other take down for a spare.

Strong
and take up half the space. These are great if you car-top your Jon
boat on your SUV. You will not be tripping over full length oars in the
blind. Shortened they are paddles for the tight spots.
