Cabela's XPG™ Trekking Poles

  • Stay balanced and safe on the trail
  • Made of 7001-series anodized aluminum
  • Built-in shock-absorbing system for rough ground
  • Tungsten tip for sand, dirt and clay
  • Rubber tips for rocky terrain
Constructed of 7001-series anodized aluminum, these poles will stand up to rough terrain. An internal shock-absorbing system soaks up bumps. The tungsten tip is ideal for soft terrain, while the removable rubber cap grips hard surfaces. Twist-lock adjustment extends the three-section pole to 4-3/4 ft. (145 cm) down to 2-1/2 ft. (76 cm). Sold per pair. Imported.

These poles lasted less than a mile into a backpacking trip. The tip on one broke off while I was trying to balance on a slope. Thinking that this was perhaps a fluke, we exchanged the poles for a second set and experienced more problems. On a day hike, the tip and basket broke off. We returned the second set and got our money back.

Locks will not hold and one of the springs will not work. I have not left the living room yet!!
I guess it's off to the post office in the morning. :(

These poles didn't even last one trip. 8 miles in and, while re-adjusting pole that didn't stay where I put it, I over-tightened and pole was rendered useless. Inside snapped, now I am left with a single pole that I now treat with kid gloves.
