love em,July 15, 2009

"i purchased 2 dozen of the fully rigged real image decoys last year. they are great decoys look great and last if u take care of them!! the reason i gave them 4 stars is the fully rigged decoys i dont really care for the cord that is on them i would prefer string. i will probably switch that out when the cord starts breaking. the adjustable plastic things on the cord are not really needed since the decoys have a slot where you can hook the string already and the cord doesnt fit in there very well. the bungee and the j hook weights make it easy and tangle free. remember when u put the heads on the decoys PUT THE PLASTIC PLUGS IN THE DECOY FIRST DO NOT INSTALL HEAD UNTIL U PUT THE PLUGS IN!!! some of the holes are a little small and the plugs are very hard to put in make sure u do this in a warm area and the decoys are warm. also one of the decoys didnt come with cord or a weight but a quick call to cabelas and they sent me everything to rig it up. make sure you use individual slot decoy bags or these decoys will chip. if you have to hike in where you hunt they are kind of a pain to pack since you have to use slotted decoy bags. but i would rather use 1 dozen of these decoys than 2-3 dozen other decoys in the same price range. i always hunt with my boat so i wasnt worried about that. i hope i didnt leave anything out and hope this helps you if you are looking at buying these decoys"

Decoys Take On Water,December 2, 2008
By OklahomaMallardfrom Arkansas
"These decoys are probably the best looking decoys I have ever used but there is a significant engineering problem. The decoys have a removable head that does not fit very tight into the decoy body cavity. There is a HOLE in the decoy in the cavity that the head pops into. Water will get into that hole when you toss your decoys out into the spread, back to the blind or are hauling them out of the marsh. 8 out of 12 decoys got water in it after 3 days of hunting, and I cant get it out. I am sending mine back and when I spoke to Cabela's they were already aware of the problem and are going to pay to have the decoys sent back. Again, do not buy these decoys, it is a shame there is such a flaw because they are some of the best looking decoys I have ever owned."

REAL IMAGE,February 5, 2008

"THESE DECOYS LOOK GREAT ON THE WATER, THE WEIGHTED KEEL KEEPS THEM NICE AND STEADY IN ANY WATER. THE DOWN SIDE,THESE DECOYS ARE HEAVIER THEN MOST AND CAN BE DIFICULT TO CARRY IN AND OUT OF THE FIELD EXSPECIALY IF USED WITH THE SLOTED DECOY BAG."

4.5 Stars,January 7, 2008
By flatheadfisherfrom NC
"These decoys are great. They look wonderful and handle easily. They have held up well so far. I have given my other decoys away - they just look pitiful compared to these.
I like the decoy weights but I have broken the decoy cord several times trying to get it into the slot. The cord needs a higher tensile strength."

Cabela's RealImage Mallards,October 29, 2007
By BlackDog2from Lacey, Washington
"These dekes look good out of the box and look good on the water. The paint is not durable and some of them have some deformation of the head and neck. Maybe I got a bad batch?"

Heavy Decoys,October 3, 2007
By Oregonhuntfrom Eugene, Oregon
"These decoys would be great for hunting from a boat, but as a hit and run pothole shooter - they are way to heavy. Suggest light weight alternates (that I have purchased). A dozen lightweights are only 10 pounds. Slung over your sholder in a decoy bag (with 2 miles to walk) it make a big difference."

not field ready,November 16, 2006
By slimtoufrom Oregon, hunting on the Eastside of the state.
"The lines where to long for my type of hunting and that was O.K. But the heads where not installed and they need to have a plug installed in the body. This is not hard to do it will take you time. They do look good on the water and do ride nice in a big wind. I will buy more later if not this year next."
