Doesn't fit all Lowrance,

"I just received and tried the lock listed for Lowrance - Eagle and while the caqtalog listing is for Lowrance and the package says it fits many of the units it does not fit the HDS-5 and probably HDS-7 series. Called Durasafe and they can supply either a GD-011 or a UEL50 which are supposed to fit the HDS 5 series. Will know when it arrives."

Durasafe electronics lock for Eagle/Lowrance Sonar,

"The first one I received works fine. I decided to but one on the other side figuring two are better than one so I ordered a second one. This one seemed to work until I put it on the unit. When you locked it the knob would still unscrew. Also the key for the second one fit the first one which leads me to believe that if anyone has one of these their key may fit anybody elses. I called customer service and as usual they were great. I will see how the next one works."

Electronics Gimbal Lock - DuraSafe,

"I have not had the unit stolen so far it has worked. The garmin sounder is located on the back of my boat and is open 24/7. From an insurance stand point, both financially and mentally it is a great plus.
A little hard to get put on at first but about a 4 minute project and it may have been location/access."

DURASAFE LOCK FOR LOWRANCE LCX-113C HD,

"The bolt on the durasafe lock is too short for my LCX-
113C HD. I went to hardware store and inserted a longer
bolt in the durasafe lock along with some extra rubber
washers and it worked great! Also had to use a nylon
wide washer. Worked perfect!!"

Lock does not work with Garmin 498,

"Don't get me wrong, this should be a great product for a GPS that would work with it. However, despite the claim that it would work with Garmin, it will not work with the Garmin Model 498. Perhaps others, but not the 498. I sure wish it would have as this would be great to secure your GPS to the boat during dock stops."

"These locks are top quality and look great on $1000 GPS units or $200 basic sonar units. They are simply the best we've seen or used anywhere. We have them on front and rear sonar units on our North River boat and they're totally dependable. They keep the "oportunistic" person honest as they're easily installed, yet keep someone from walking away with your sonar unit."

"Nice security for expensive electronics.
The only flaw I found is that I purchased it to protect my investment of a Lowrance LCX 113-HD and it did not fit. The bolt was to short for the extended screen on this model.
I was able to use it on a Fishhawk 840 temp/speed monitor."

"Fishing electronics are a large investment and protecting it while it's in the boat is a necessary evil these days. I usually fish alone, which means the boat and all the equipment is by itself while I'm taking the rig to or retrieving the rig from the parking lot. I like the idea the electronics are locked in place to keep the honest people honest.
Keep your keys handy however as you will need to unlock the device if you want to adjust the angle of view, or remove the device from the boat."
