"Got this jacket on sale, and I'm so glad I did. Here's the thing - you could pay 2.5 to 4 times as much for the same jacket by arc'teryx or TNF or Marmot, but the quality wouldn't be any better. This jacket has fully taped seams, is made of gore-tex paclite, and has truly waterproof zippers. All features you normally pay a lot more money for. And it looks good, too - I live in Steamboat Springs, and my "gearhead" friends have already asked me about it. When I tell them it's Cabela's, they're a little surprised.
Stepped outside with it in a rainstorm a couple weeks ago and it worked perfectly. What more can you ask for?"

"I purchased the GORE-TEX Paclite Parka - Tall. It is nice to have the extra length to cover my rear. The long sleeves are nice as well. It is a thin shell that breathes extremely well. It is not very warm in the winter. I'm looking forward to wearing it in the summer. I imagine it will be very comfortable. The water just beads and the fabric doesn't get wet so it doesn't get heavy like some rain coats do. I shake it off outside, and it dries in a few minutes. I think I'll need to get a warmer rain coat for next winter. I walk to work when it rains, so it's critical that I stay dry (and warm in the winter). The wind goes through it pretty easily. That's why I think it will be a good summer rain coat. I have noticed that it absorbs odors like restaurant odors and smoke among others (I'm blessed with a very sensitive nose). I let it air out over the back of a chair for a few days, and the odors dissipate fairly well. Airing out outside is even more effective. I'm quite pleased with the waterproof zippers. They were stiff at first, but they are getting easier with use. The multiple pockets is a nice feature. I haven't found a use for all of them, but I like the options."

"I just got back from a hunting trip to Oregon and I used this Parka to keep me dry and to block the wind. I was in this jacket for three days straight and stayed dry and comfortable while the weather poured and blew. The 2XL/tall I ordered was perfect for a top outer layer with 3 layered thick shirts under it. There is no insulation in this jacket and I did not want any, so it is light weight, packs up tightly to almost nothing and tough. I can roll the jacket to just under the size of a 1-1/2 liter soda bottle, remember it is the 2xl/tall. The hood works well with a ball cap too. It appears to be strong and tough but I have not had it long enough to prove this, but I am not worried from what I see. I am going to purchase another one to keep dedicated in my truck travel bag. I am getting another one which may speak for itself. Thanks Cabela's!"
