Advanced Anglers Wireless Panning Camera 2,February 26, 2010
By Steve09
"The Screen had a black bar right in the center of it and then a white line above that. Too many wires to hook up. All adjustments should be in the front of the monitor, The housing for the monitor should be in a hard case and the battery should be permanently fixed in their too!!"

Underwater Camera with Wireless Panning Feature,February 21, 2010
By OkobojiFishermanfrom Spirit Lake, IA
"Cabela's Advanced Anglers Underwater Viewing System with Wireless Panning Feature exceeded my expectations. This advanced system is so easy to set up and use right out of the box. This is my first underwater camera and I absolutely would recommend this system to anyone who has a passion for fishing. First time out I used the camera in 22 feet of water ice fishing for perch. The ability to look around using the wireless remote while setting back in my ice house was so nice and to see the fish come right up and take the bait, well that is really something to see while you are holding the pole on the other end of the line. To see how the fish react to different types of bait and technique is a leaning experience. The clear view and focus makes you feel as if you’re right there with the fish. The battery lasted approximately 8 hours with out needing a charge. It would have probably lasted longer if I would have left the camera pointed at my bait, but I could not resist the fun of panning the camera and watching the fish in every direction. Thanks again Cabela's for bringing the underwater viewing ability to a small town fisherman. Can't wait to get back out on the ice."

monitor did not work,February 21, 2010
By JDegifrom Central New York area
"I received my camera friday I had a icefishing derby on saturday The camera box was all taped on all edges I thought was strange The monitor & camera were packed nicely in foam. I didn't think I would have a problem, Charged battery and 2 hrs. later I tried it and monitor did not come on at all. Tested battery-fully charged, changed fuses, still nothing. Very disappointed and the timely wasn't good either. Really had high expectations coming from Cabela's. At this time I would have to say that I would not recommend it to a friend."

Just sent it back,February 11, 2010
By khaas6548from Black River Falls, WI
"I just sent my camera system back. I say that this camera worked 50% of the time i went ice fishing. The camera head worked well when it worked. The wireless remote only worked once for me with a charged battery. The battery was completey charged on the camera but the camera would not turn on. It was like it had a short in the wires. All in all i think this camera needs alot of work!!!!"

By hpflyfishingfrom Upstate NY
"Used it 4 times befor it leaked. Retuned it and am going to have to wait a couple of months for the backorder replacement, by then the ice will be gone. Like the idea but the execution left a lot to be desired."

Red River, Manitoba,January 30, 2010
By redriverchubfrom Winnipeg, Manitoba....love to fish!!!
"Bought the camera, went home, hooked everything up and at the time.....everything looked great! I don't know what the big deal was about battery storage or problems with the case. Everything fit great and I think it is a very compact unit. At home everything worked great, beautiful, clear picture and the infared lights worked excellent. That was at home!!....BUT.... the very next day, on the River, that was a different story. I couldn't get a picture, just a white screen, the hand held remote would not work, the inline remote felt warm to the touch and it didn't respond as it had the night before. I could see a compass reading on the screen but that was about all and it showed a different reading and I knew that the transponder was on the bottom and not moving. SOooo... I brought it back to the store here in Winnipeg and the guys there were very sympathetic to my situation and offered me another unit. I was going to exchange it for another one, when one of the sales guys came over and said...""another one""....""we must of got a bad lot of these or something""?? Hummmnnn......How many have been returned?? ""A FEW"", I was told! OK.. I took my refund which they offered without any problem...considering retailers don't usually refund on electronics. I looked at different units and manufacturers and they didn't seem to match up to the model with Cabella's name on it. Over all, I know if the camera worked on the river as it had at home, I would be very content. When they get another shipment of cameras in, I will definately go down a pick another one up. I will let you know how this story goes! Would I recommend this one to a friend.....just the close ones, I don't want everyone to catch more fish than ME!! I will let you know!!!!! P.S. Although the directions that come with the unit is a little vague. Try using a little common sense when putting this unit together...everything fits nicely..just use some gray matter and you will be fine!"

Bad Monitor,January 29, 2010
By goatous
"Day 1, out of the box, bad monitor. I flicker and there is nothing that could be done. Sent it back right away and it was backordered for 2 months. Now I will be lucky to get it back and use it this season. From the reports that that the leaky housing isn't fixed, I won't use it till next year and hope the warranty is still applicable."

Panning Camera II,January 16, 2010
By MNFishingGuy
"No very happy with the camera. Used the camera twice. After the second time using it all day we pulled it up and found it was 1/8 full of water on the inside. So much for them fixing the leaking camera head. I will be retuning this in the comings day. Hope their warranty is good.
I did like the clear picture that was put out from the camera. clear on clear lakes.
I also like the panning."

panning camera,January 15, 2010
By AlexVfrom southern ontario ,canada
"i bought this camera 1 1/2 years ago with out really having a chance to pick it up and examine it or even seeing it set up in the store . so i was a lil skeptical of the claims. but rest assured it is everything it claims to be . it is well worth the money. if your pondering over this one or saving a lil cash and getting the non panning model do your self a favor and buck up for the panning model. i use mine mostly for ice fishing and i will say that it makes it almost unfair to the fish lol you can see what presentations work and dont work see when they change theyre minds on what will entice them to strike. aswell as seeing exactly how they have been steeling your bait right off the hook with out you even knowing they are there???? i am convinced without the camera my last two outings i would have been returning w/ few to no fish instead of my limits. water clarity is everything mind you . i was able to see around 6-8 feet away in stained water , at a distance of 3 feet away i was able to see two lures 3 feet apart in the same frame. in clear water its like fishing in a aquarium (providing your over fish lol.) id advise to fallow the cameras storing instructions by disconnecting the battery while long term storage . i didnt and the result was a drained battery that wouldnt take a charge. everyone who has gone out with me are all saving for theyre own advanced angler panning camera"

Very impressed!,December 31, 2009
By snakeofrom Western Wisconsin
"Bought this camera about two weeks ago without knowing anything about, which i usually do not do. Anyways took it out the other day to test it out and i was truely amazed by the clarity and quality of this machine. I have used the ones where you have to twist the cord to pan around, this one you can just sit back and use the cordless remote and it works flawlessly! Very good picture and very easy to use! The only thing that i dont know about yet is durability of this machine, so we will have to see how long it lasts, but so far i would recommend this camera to anyone!"

panning camera,December 31, 2009
By fishing1212
"I purchased this camera in grand forks ND on my way to Saskatchewan. While fishing for northern pike i used it for three days I was impressed with the panning option worked excellent the only thing I missed was not being able to look straight down. Watched my partner catch a 22# fish. That looked big at 15 ft. Buy this camera you will be happy!!!"

Awesome product,December 30, 2009
By gs2009from michigan
"I bought this camera last week and have used it a couple of times while ice fishing. I dropped the camera down 35 feet in a lake that is not very clear and I was able to pick up my small tear drop without any trouble. I was able to watch my buddies bait that was around 3 feet away as well. I was very pleased with how good the quality was, I was able to see perch come in and bite my bait while I watched on the screen. We learned alot about perch behavior by using this product. Another friend of mine was fishing in a shanty close by who also has another brand camera and told me that I would never be able to see that far down in this lake because his camera could not pick up fish in this lake. Well this camera did! It was very easy to see the perch, my jig, and even my fishing line! This is a great product. It is worth the extra money for the panning as well. You don't have to turn the cord to see what is behind you. Pay the extra and get this camera. I believe it was worth it!"
